New Permissions Module — The Heart of TOKII 3.0

The great highlight of this version is the complete refactor of the permissions system, which stops being a silent mechanism in the background to become a functional and visible pillar of the TOKII ecosystem.

A clearer, more consistent, and more predictable system

  • Complete rewrite of the internal logic.

  • The system no longer allows for "gray areas". Visualizing something does not imply being able to edit it.

  • Ambiguous behaviors disappear.

  • The possibility of unintentional modification in sensitive environments is eliminated.

Foundation for auditing, traceability, and multi-level scenarios

  • Permissions by module or by section.

  • Granular access in dashboards.

  • Edit and change auditing.

Real-time metrics: new MQTT dashboard

The big news in control is the MQTT metrics dashboard, designed to understand how data reception and flow behaves with a focus on actual channel behavior and stability of ingestion.

This dashboard turns the messaging layer into something visible and auditable, key for operations where MQTT is the heart of the system.

Moving smart cities: energy and air quality animations

The visual layer of smart cities is reinforced with animations that make what were previously just data more intuitive, turning the digital twin into a more pedagogical and demonstrative tool.

  • Shutdown animation in smart city scenes, giving visual context to "off" states, incidents, or failure simulations.

  • Energy supply animations, which help visualize flows, consumption, and possible interruptions.

  • Air quality animations, linking environmental data with a lively representation that is easy to explain to non-technical audiences.

  • A weather station on rooftops is added, designed for both challenges and environmental monitoring experiences.

More readable visualizations: heatmap, stacked, and tables

3.0 incorporates a set of small adjustments that, combined, significantly improve the readability of the data:

  • Heatmap

    • Correction of the X axis from 10, which showed the numbers incorrectly.

    • Adjustment of the space in the legend, improving the balance between colors and text.

    • Review of Value attributes in string mode, ensuring that textual states are represented clearly.

  • Stacked graphs and Connected Dots

    • Fix of the hover in stacked graphs, which now shows coherent information when hovering.

    • Review of colors in stacked graphs to maintain visual and semantic coherence.

    • Correction of the bug in Connected Dots, stabilizing the behavior of the visualization.

  • Axes and names

    • Improvement in the cut of names on the axes by spaces, without breaking words, avoiding unreadable or broken labels.

    • In state hovers, the format "data name: data value" now appears, ensuring complete context.

  • Tables

    • The KPI table ignores labels <div> within the cells, avoiding visual noise in HTML data.

    • The redundant label is removed in the table when it does not provide information.

    • New configuration to reduce font size, key in dense tables.

    • Fix in KPI marker when there is only one column in the dataset, avoiding anomalous behavior in edge cases.

  • Columns

    • Possibility to rename columns from configuration, adapting technical terminology to a language closer to the user (teams, installations, etc.).

    • Result: visualizations read better, are interpreted faster, and behave more consistently.

Tickets: more context, more control, and better errors

The ticket module continues to evolve towards a central operational tool:

  • In the details of a ticket within the dashboard, a button is added to go directly to the ticket section in the twin, connecting analytical view with 3D context.

  • A clearer error control in tickets is implemented, avoiding generic messages and facilitating the resolution of usage incidents.

  • A behavior is corrected where, when clicking on an alert, all were marked as read: now only the selected alert is marked.

  • Specific errors related to tickets and TOKII 3D notifications are resolved, improving coherence among alerts, states, and incident details.

These improvements reduce ambiguities in daily operation and facilitate the traceability of each event.

Login and permissions: more transparent security

Authentication and permission management undergo a significant overhaul:

  • Redesign of the TOKII 3D login, with a clearer interface aligned with the current visual language.

  • The login system now shows information in error messages with associated codes, which facilitates diagnosis (credential issues, certificates, connectivity, etc.).

  • Logic for login without certificates in local environments is added, simplifying development and testing without compromising security in production.

  • TOKII Gabonak launches a line of themed/seasonal experiences, ideal for demos, campaigns, and special activations within the 3D environment.

The final experience is more predictable: if something fails, the user knows why; if they do not have permission, the interface clearly reflects that reality.

Maps, Mapbox, and section structure

TOKII 3.0 continues to clean up and organize the map layer and its configuration. The result is a clearer map management and site structure, especially for projects with many sections and layers:

  • In the site settings menu, new specific Mapbox options are added, centralizing the cartographic adjustments.

  • A bug in map settings is corrected that could cause incoherent behaviors or blocks when configuring the view.

  • Issues in the sections menu and in Position Section (nomenclature changes + controls) are resolved so that the selection and placement of sections feel more natural.

  • Fix for closed categories in the LateralMenu, ensuring that the navigation correctly reflects what is available and what is not.

3D environment and visualizations: more honest editing

The experience within the twin refines important details so that the 3D environment is more reliable when editing and reviewing content, reducing surprises in production.

  • In the preview camera, the strip of the message "F to focus" is adjusted so that it does not visually interfere when placing elements.

  • Upon entering the visualization editor, the active KPI is now deselected so that when placing it, its actual size is visible without inheriting strange scales.

  • New behavior test: when editing the position of a visualization, it always moves in relation to the section (and not in relation to the camera), making the editing more consistent with the spatial logic of the site.

  • Bugs in interactive navigation buttons and interactive elements in general are corrected, ensuring smooth transitions between views.

Palette, structure, and small interface adjustments

The version concludes with a series of detail improvements that refine the overall experience:

  • Palette adjustments to maintain coherence between KPIs, maps, states, and interface elements.

  • Review of colors in stacked graphs, tables, and states to improve contrast and readability.

  • In the Configurators Structure section, the direction of arrows is changed to make the movement between levels more intuitive.

  • Behaviors of map settings and other configuration menus are refined to avoid blocks and ambiguous states.

Internal stability and technical corrections

Below the surface, TOKII 3.0 includes a cleanup of other minor errors, reinforcing system stability and reducing the occurrence of hard-to-reproduce failures.
